The art and science of experimentation
How might we use observation and experimentation to expand creative boundaries and foster innovation in design practices?
Samantha Mathews will delve into the delicate interplay between art and science, examining how the disciplines of visual art and pharmaceutical sciences converge in the practice of observation and experimentation. Drawing from her diverse academic journey and her hands-on experience in ceramics, Samantha will discuss how we can transcend our experiential filters to observe the world with fresh eyes and engage in experimentation that propels us beyond our perceived limitations.
By comparing the meticulous attention to detail required in pharmaceutical sciences with the freeform expression of visual arts, she will uncover the shared principles that can enhance creative practice. Samantha will share her personal strategies for overcoming impostor syndrome and embracing the unknown, offering insights into how these approaches can foster innovation and drive the field of design forward.
